A Green Synthesis of Acetyl Eugenol by Sonochemical Method and Potential as Anti-Inflammatory In-Vitro

<p>Clove oil is an essential from the clove plant (<em>Syzygium aromaticum</em>) containing eugenol compounds. One of properties as anti-inflammatory with a mechanism inhibition prostaglandin synthesis and neutrophil chemotaxis. Several derivatives have active compounds that been developed into new drug such acetyl (4-allyl-2-methoxyphenyl acetate). This study aims to determine % yield produced using ultrasonic 0.0323 mol added Erlenmeyer, 0.25 10% sodium hydroxide was added. The mixture put in sonicator for 15 minutes heated at 60<sup>0</sup>C. Then, 0.0974 acetic anhydride reacted DCC, mix sonicated time variations (60, 80, 100 minutes). chemical structure elucidated FTIR, ATR, GC-MS. synthesized 32.75%. Based on interpretation data 3405 cm<sup>-1</sup> O-H group (free phenol), 1405 cm<sup>-1 </sup>is alkene (C=C) aliphatic, 1560 aromatic compound presence C=C bond. (C-O) ether indicated wave number 1301 cm<sup>-1</sup>. C=O ester bond shown 1700 GC-MS shows has molecular ion m/z = 206. According weight 206 g/mol, it can be concluded successfully synthesized. most stable ionic fragment, 37, 164. activities anti-inflammatory, 400 concentration ppm get 32.20%.</p><p class="Standard"><strong><em> </em></strong></p>
